At what age is a dog adult?
Dogs should move from puppy food to adult food once they have reached 80% of their adult size.
The age at which they reach full size will vary between different breed sizes:
- Small breeds – reaching full size between 10-12 months.
- Medium breeds – reaching full size between 12-15 months.
- Large breeds – reaching full size at 18 months.
- Giant breeds – reaching full size between 18-24 months but could take longer
At what age is a dog senior?
- Small breeds (less than 10 kg) are considered senior from 8 years of age
- Medium breeds (10-25 kg) are considered senior from 7 years
- Large breeds (25-45 kg) are considered senior from 6 years
- Giant breeds (over 45 kg) are considered senior from 5 years of age
